Italian Conglomerate Stone, Versatile Format: Ceppo Mix 30 x 60cm

A characterful pebble-inclusion stone-effect porcelain in a versatile 30 x 60cm format — Ceppo Mix from Hyperion Tiles, your official Fired Earth stockist.

Ceppo takes its cue from Ceppo di Grè, the distinctive conglomerate stone of northern Italy, where scattered pebbles and mineral fragments are set into a fine matrix. That unmistakable surface is faithfully captured here in a matt porcelain, giving real depth and texture underfoot.

The Mix colourway marries grey and beige tones within each tile, adding extra depth, movement and warmth to a scheme. The 30 x 60cm format is easy to lay brick-bond, stacked or straight across floors and walls. As a through-body porcelain it is frostproof, impervious and needs no sealing — rated for walls and floors, wet rooms and underfloor heating, indoors and out.

Installation & care

Installation & care

  • Adhesive & Grout: Fix with a high-quality flexible adhesive and a tonal grout. For wet and external areas, specify a frost-resistant, exterior-grade system throughout.
  • Layout Options: Lay with a 3mm joint, shuffling tiles from several boxes so the pebble detail and shade variation flow naturally across the surface.
  • Cleaning: Sweep and mop with warm water and a mild cleaner. This matt porcelain needs no sealing and shrugs off splashes, steam and frost.
Samples

Tone, glaze and veining all read differently in your own light. Cut samples are free — sample postage is £4.99 (£8 for Original Style) and we refund it on tile orders over £50 with the code we email you. Our family-run team is happy to check quantities and finishes with you on 01344 620211.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Fired Earth ranges are returned through Fired Earth’s own returns process, and special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

What patterns can I lay with 60x30cm tiles?

The 60x30cm format is the "golden ratio" for tile layouts. It looks fantastic in a herringbone pattern (zig-zag), a brick-bond (staggered) pattern, or even stacked vertically (linear) for a modern, architectural look on walls.

Is this real stone or porcelain?

This is a porcelain tile designed to replicate the look of Ceppo di Gré natural stone. Porcelain is denser, more durable, and requires zero maintenance compared to the real stone, making it perfect for modern living.

Can I use this on walls?

Yes, absolutely. The 60x30cm size is ideal for wall installation and looks stunning in bathrooms, shower enclosures, and as kitchen splashbacks.

Do I need to seal these tiles?

No. Unlike natural limestone or terrazzo, porcelain tiles do not require sealing. They are inherently resistant to staining, water, and fading.

What grout colour should I use?

Because the "Mix" colourway contains both grey and beige, you can choose a grout to match either. A greige or warm grey grout is usually the safest bet to tie the look together. A 2mm grout joint is recommended for rectified edges.
