A sleek toughened-glass: Arctic Clear Glass 750 x 600mm Splashback

Luminous, light-filled elegance for interior walls, crisp from Hyperion Tiles.

The Arctic range brings crisp, glacial clarity to kitchens, bathrooms, showers and splashbacks. This splashback panel in a 75 x 60cm format catches and softens daylight, giving walls a sense of depth and quiet luxury without ever overpowering a scheme.

Made from toughened optically clear glass, it forms a hygienic, heat-tolerant surface behind hobs and basins that wipes clean in seconds and never needs sealing. Fix with a white glass-rated adhesive so nothing shows through the glass.

Installation & care

Installation & care

  • Always use a white adhesive: clear glass reveals whatever sits behind it, so fix with a white glass-rated tile adhesive — a grey or brown adhesive will show through and cloud the finish.
  • Cutting & edges: score and snap with a glass cutter for a clean line and take care with any cut or exposed edges; a standard wet saw can chip the glass.
  • Grout: a white or pale non-sanded grout keeps the crisp, luminous look.
  • Cleaning: glass is non-porous and never needs sealing — simply wipe with a soft cloth and a mild glass cleaner. Ideal for kitchen splashbacks, shower and bathroom walls and other wet areas.
Samples

Tone, glaze and veining all read differently in your own light. Cut samples are free — sample postage is £4.99 (£8 for Original Style) and we refund it on tile orders over £50 with the code we email you. Our family-run team is happy to check quantities and finishes with you on 01344 620211.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Fired Earth ranges are returned through Fired Earth’s own returns process, and special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

What is the advantage of a single-piece glass splashback over tiles?

There are no grout joints. That means nothing behind a hob for cooking grease and steam to collect in, and a completely seamless surface that wipes clean in one pass.

Visually it also reads as a single plane of colour rather than a grid, which suits a contemporary kitchen. It is the easiest splashback surface to keep clean that we sell.

Can a glass splashback go directly behind a gas hob?

Glass splashback panels are widely used behind gas and induction hobs, but you must follow the clearances stated by your hob manufacturer — these vary by appliance and are the governing requirement.

If your hob sits tight against the wall or has a high burner output, tell us the make and model along with your measurements and we will confirm whether the panel you are considering is appropriate.

Can these panels be cut down or drilled for sockets?

Not on site. Toughened glass cannot be cut, drilled or notched after it has been toughened — any attempt will shatter the panel.

All cut-outs for sockets, switches and extractors have to be made before toughening, so we need your final, checked measurements and cut-out positions up front. Measure after your worktop and units are fitted, not before.

How is a glass splashback fixed to the wall?

Onto a flat, clean, dry wall using a neutral-cure silicone or a proprietary glass adhesive, applied in vertical beads so any trapped moisture can escape. Support the panel while it cures.

The wall needs to be genuinely flat, as glass will not follow a bowed surface and will sit proud at one edge. Seal along the worktop junction with a colour-matched neutral-cure silicone rather than grout.

How do I measure up for a glass splashback panel?

This panel measures 750 x 600 x 6mm and is supplied as a single piece of toughened glass, so there is nothing to calculate by the square metre — you either need one panel or several butted together.

Measure the width of the run and the height from the worktop up to the underside of your extractor or wall units, and always measure after the units and worktop are installed rather than working from a plan. Note the exact position of any sockets, switches or extractor cut-outs.

Toughened glass cannot be cut, drilled or notched once it has been made, so every cut-out has to be specified before manufacture. Send us your measurements and we will check them and confirm whether a standard size fits or whether you need one made to order.
