Aquastyle is sold by the sheet, with each 31 x 46.7cm sheet covering 0.145m² — that works out at 6.89 sheets per m². Measure your area in square metres, add 10% for cuts and wastage, then multiply by 6.89 and round up. For a swimming pool do measure the walls, floor and any steps or benches separately, and allow a little extra for the curved returns. This is the part worth getting right. A pool tank is under permanent immersion and constant chemical load, so a standard wall adhesive and cementitious grout will not do — you need an adhesive and grout system specifically rated for continuous water contact, and an epoxy grout is the usual specification for a tank. The adhesive should also be white: glass is translucent, so a grey or cement-coloured bed will read straight through the chips and dull the colour. Aquastyle is rated for swimming pool tanks, internal walls, internal floors and external walls, and it is frostproof — which makes it one of the few surfaces you can carry from inside a pool, up the surround and into an adjoining changing room or bathroom without changing material. It is equally at home in a spa, a wet room, a shower enclosure or across a splashback. The 2.5cm chips on a flexible mesh sheet will follow the curve of a pool wall, wrap a step or turn a bench cleanly.

No. The colour in a glass mosaic is held within the body of the glass rather than in a surface glaze or a printed layer, so there is nothing to wear away, bleach out or chalk off. That is the reason glass has been the default for pool linings for decades — it shrugs off UV, chlorine and permanent immersion in a way that few other materials manage. It needs no sealing and will not stain.
