Bring the depth of weathered metal to a floor or wall with the Alloy Mint Matt 60x60cm rectified porcelain tile from Hyperion Tiles.

Mint is the gentlest note in the range — a pale, dusty green washing across a metallic ground, the colour of oxidised copper caught early. Finished to a V4 substantial variation, the strongest grade there is, no two tiles are alike; the surface shifts across a floor rather than repeating.

The matt finish keeps the effect industrial rather than showy, and carries an R10 / PTV Shod +36 slip rating that real metal could never offer. Rated F4 for heavy domestic traffic, frostproof and rectified for a crisp narrow joint, it works as readily on a kitchen floor as up a feature wall or across a sheltered external wall.

Installation & care

Adhesive & Grout: Use a high-quality flexible adhesive suitable for large-format porcelain and back-butter each tile. A grout close to the tile tone lets the metal effect run uninterrupted; a contrasting grout will draw a grid across it.
Layout Options: Dry-lay several packs and shuffle before fixing — with V4 variation, the patination differs markedly tile to tile and clustering the darker ones will show. Pair the matt 60 x 60cm underfoot with the semi-polished 60 x 120cm on a wall for a considered contrast in the same colourway.
Cleaning: Sweep and clean with warm water and a mild floor cleaner. The matt glazed surface needs no sealing, and unlike real metal it will not tarnish, dent or rust.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

How many Alloy tiles do I need?

Both Alloy formats are sold by the pack and both cover the same 1.44m² — the matt 60 x 60cm comes 4 tiles to a pack (2.77 per m²), the semi-polished 60 x 120cm comes 2 tiles to a pack (1.39 per m²). Measure your area in square metres, add 10% for cuts and wastage, divide by 1.44 and round up. Each pack weighs 30kg either way. Should I choose Alloy matt or semi polished?

It comes down to where it is going. The matt 60 x 60cm carries an R10 / PTV Shod +36 slip rating, which makes it the sensible choice for any floor — and the only one we would recommend for a wet room or shower. The semi-polished 60 x 120cm has no published slip rating, so we would keep it to walls, or to floors that stay dry. Many customers use both: the matt underfoot and the semi-polished on a feature wall in the same colourway, which gives you contrast without introducing a second material.

Where can I use Alloy?

Alloy is a frostproof glazed porcelain rated for internal walls, internal floors and external walls, with an F4 wear rating suited to heavy domestic traffic — kitchens, hallways, living spaces and sheltered terraces. It gives you the look of oxidised metal with none of the drawbacks: it will not tarnish, dent, rust or need sealing, and the matt finish is properly slip-rated in a way real metal sheet never is.

What does V4 substantial variation mean?

V4 is the highest shade-variation grade, meaning tiles within the same pack differ markedly in tone and patination. On a metal effect that is entirely the point — oxidised metal is never uniform, and without the variation the surface would read as an obviously repeated print. Open several packs at once, dry-lay a run and shuffle the tiles before fixing so the darker and lighter patinas distribute naturally. A single sample will not show you the full range, so do come and see the whole thing in our Ascot showroom if you can.
