What is the difference between the Limestone and the Porcelain options?

Wychwood Limestone is an authentic, quarried natural stone. It features genuine fossil markings, a highly organic variation between tiles, and requires sealing to protect it from moisture. Wychwood Porcelain is a manufactured, man-made tile designed to perfectly mimic the natural limestone. It is entirely non-porous, highly resistant to stains and scratches, and requires absolutely no sealing.

Do I need to seal the outdoor paving?

If you choose the Wychwood Limestone exterior paving, yes. Because it is a natural, porous stone, it must be sealed to protect it from organic matter (like leaves and algae) and weathering. If you choose the Wychwood Porcelain exterior paving, it is completely non-porous and does not require any sealing whatsoever.

Can I use both options with underfloor heating?

Absolutely. Both natural limestone and dense porcelain act as superb thermal conductors. They will efficiently absorb the heat from your electric or water-based underfloor heating system and slowly radiate it back into the room, ensuring a wonderfully warm and comfortable floor during the colder months.

What does a "60xRandom" size mean for the Limestone?

When purchasing the genuine Wychwood Limestone in the 60xRandom format, all the flagstones will have a fixed width of 60cm, but the lengths of the individual pieces will vary randomly within the crate. Laying stone in this traditional "free length" pattern breaks up rigid grid lines, ensuring your finished floor looks historically authentic and truly bespoke.

Is the Porcelain option exactly the same colour as the Limestone?

The Wychwood Porcelain is heavily inspired by the natural limestone and shares its warm, beige, autumnal aesthetic. However, because one is natural and the other is printed, they are not exact, interchangeable matches. The porcelain range also offers a "Wychwood Claire" option, which introduces a slightly lighter, more contemporary blend of tones.
