Installation & care

Installation & care

  • Adhesive & Grout: Use a high-quality tile adhesive and grout suitable for ceramic wall tiles. A narrow grout joint is often recommended to beautifully maintain the flow of the tiles.
  • Layout Options: These perfectly proportioned 15x4cm linear mouldings are traditionally installed horizontally as a classic dado rail feature or as an elegant border frame to transition between different tile patterns or plain walls.
  • Cleaning: Maintain the beautiful glazed finish easily with warm water and a soft cloth; strictly avoid abrasive pads or harsh acidic chemicals that could scratch or dull the surface. Sealing is not necessary.
Samples

Tone, glaze and veining all read differently in your own light. Cut samples are free — sample postage is £4.99 (£8 for Original Style) and we refund it on tile orders over £50 with the code we email you. Our family-run team is happy to check quantities and finishes with you on 01344 620211.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate how many Original Style Kensington Mouldings I need?

Because each linear moulding measures 15cm in length, you will need approximately 6.66 pieces to cover one linear metre. Simply calculate your total required linear meterage (we advise adding an additional 10% for cuts and natural wastage), and multiply by 6.66 (rounding up to the nearest whole tile) to find out how many pieces you need to order to complete your border or dado rail.

What is the style of the Snape Kensington Moulding?

This elegant 15x4cm linear moulding offers a highly versatile decorative accent and finishing touch for any room. Finished in a beautifully soft, glossy pale grey 'Snape' glaze, it possesses a subtly undulating surface that beautifully captures the softly aged look of authentic, handcrafted Artisan tiles. They look fantastic whether installed as a delicate border to separate tile colours or as a stylish dado finishing feature.

Are these ceramic mouldings suitable for bathrooms and showers?

Yes. These premium ceramic mouldings are highly durable and fully suitable for internal wet and dry wall areas, including bathroom walls, shower enclosures, and kitchen splashbacks. The high-quality glazed surface naturally repels moisture, making them exceptionally practical for everyday use.

Do I need to seal Original Style ceramic mouldings before grouting?

No. Unlike natural stone or porous terracotta, the glossy fired glaze on these ceramic tiles does not require any sealing prior to grouting or during everyday maintenance. The surface is highly resilient and naturally protects against moisture and stains. Simply wipe them clean with warm water and a non-abrasive cloth.
