A Fireplace Panel: Artworks Poppy & Wheatsheaf 5-Tile Set on County White

Five 152 x 152mm decorated ceramic tiles supplied as a set, composed to be read as one panel — from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.

Panels like this were originally made for the cast iron fireplaces of the late nineteenth century, where a vertical strip of five decorated tiles sat either side of the grate. The poppies and wheat run through the set as a continuous composition rather than repeating tile by tile.

Restored properly, that is still where it looks best — but the set also works beautifully as a splashback panel behind a washstand, a vertical accent in a cloakroom, or framed within plain County White field tiles on a chimney breast.

Order of the panel: The five tiles form one composition, so check the running order before fixing — dry-lay the set on the floor in the intended sequence first.
Adhesive & Grout: Fix with a white flexible tile adhesive — a grey adhesive can shadow through a pale ground — and grout in a soft off-white or warm putty tone so the joints do not cut across the composition.
Made to order: Allow additional lead time and order everything for the scheme together, as decorated batches can vary slightly.
Cleaning: No sealing required. Wipe with warm water and a mild detergent; avoid abrasive pads and acidic limescale removers, which will dull a decorated surface faster than a plain one.
