Black and Dover White in generous 151mm squares give a hallway the steady beat that has carried period floors for six generations, and both shades come from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.
Black and Dover White is the pairing most people picture when they think of a Victorian hall, and at 151mm the squares are large enough to read as architecture rather than as texture. Pigment goes right into the ceramic body rather than sitting on a glaze, so the black stays black where the doormat sits.
Laid square to the walls the chequer reads calm and orderly; turned on the diagonal it pulls the eye down the length of a corridor. Both shades are vitrified right through, 9mm deep and matt-faced, and rated for floors indoors and out, so a single scheme can begin at the garden gate and end at the stairs.

When your order arrives
Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.
Returns
To request a return, contact Hyperion within 14 days of delivery. For eligible online consumer cancellations, you have a further 14 days after telling us to send the goods back. Contact us for the correct return address; your statutory cancellation does not depend on our authorisation.

Installation & care
- Setting Out: Find the centre line of the corridor first and set the chequer out from it, so the cut squares fall evenly against both skirtings.
- Adhesive & Grout: Fix onto a flat, sound bed with a flexible adhesive, and keep the grout mid-toned so neither colour is thrown off.
- Sealing & Cleaning: There is no glaze here, so a sealer goes on after laying; routine care is then warm water and a neutral cleaner.

Once an order has been placed, goods that are in stock can normally be dispatched within 3–5 working days. Delivery of special orders, slabs, large-format tiles, some bathware and sizeable orders is best carried out on one of our specialist off-load vehicles, so timescales will be advised before any tiles are ordered. A specific delivery date will be arranged to suit you.
