Softened by Hand: Hazlebury Limestone Tumbled & Etched 60 x 60cm

A generous 20mm natural limestone, tumbled and etched to the worn softness of a floor that has been walked on for a century — from Hyperion Tiles, your official Ca' Pietra stockist.

Tumbling rounds the arrises and takes the newness off the edges; etching then opens the surface to a fine, matt texture. The result is a limestone that looks reclaimed rather than quarried last month — and, being genuine stone, every tile carries its own shell fragments, veining and tonal shifts.

At 60 x 60cm and a full 20mm thick it is substantial enough for both an internal floor and external paving, so a kitchen can run out through a set of doors onto a terrace without a change of material. It is also compatible with underfloor heating.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

To request a return, contact Hyperion within 14 days of delivery. For eligible online consumer cancellations, you have a further 14 days after telling us to send the goods back. Contact us for the correct return address; your statutory cancellation does not depend on our authorisation.

Does Hazlebury Limestone need sealing?

Yes. As a natural limestone it must be sealed before grouting and again once laid, then refreshed periodically. Sealing guards against staining and preserves the tumbled and etched character of the surface.

What does it mean that this stone is prone to efflorescence?

Efflorescence is a white salt bloom that can surface on natural stone as moisture moves through it and evaporates. Store the tiles dry, use a rapid or semi-rapid set adhesive, and avoid trapping water beneath the bed. Any bloom that does appear can usually be brushed off once the floor has fully dried out.

Can I run this stone from inside out onto a terrace?

Yes — that is one of its real strengths. At a full 20mm it is rated for interior floors and external paving, so a kitchen can continue through a set of doors onto a terrace in the same stone. It is also compatible with underfloor heating.

How is Hazlebury Tumbled & Etched sold?

Per tile. Each 60 x 60cm tile covers 0.36m², so allow roughly three tiles per square metre plus around 10% for cuts and breakages.

Installation & care

Sealing (required): As a natural limestone this must be sealed before grouting and again once laid, then refreshed periodically. Sealing protects the stone and preserves its character.
Adhesive & Grout: Use a rapid or semi-rapid set white stone adhesive. This stone is prone to efflorescence, so store it in dry conditions and avoid trapping moisture beneath the bed.
Cleaning: Warm water and a pH-neutral stone cleaner only. Acidic products — including many limescale removers — will etch limestone permanently.
