Product story

The Vertical Finish: Artworks County White Rounded Edge Short

A 152 x 75mm half tile with one short edge rounded to a soft bullnose, for finishing a vertical run of tiling — the Artworks County White Rounded Edge Short, from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.

Where the Rounded Edge Long finishes a horizontal course, the Rounded Edge Short (RES) finishes a vertical one. The bullnose sits on the shorter edge, so the glaze wraps neatly down the side of a return, a reveal or the end of a splashback.

Used together, the two pieces let a run of tiling be closed on every side without a single trim. Both carry the same County White glaze and 7mm body as the field and half tiles.

Installation & care

Installation & care

  • Adhesive & Grout: Fix with a white flexible tile adhesive — a grey adhesive can shadow through the glaze — and grout in a soft off-white or warm putty tone, which sits more comfortably with County White's creaminess than a stark brilliant white.
  • Layout: Fit the rounded-edge tiles as the finishing course and work the field tiles back from them, so the finished edge runs dead straight and any cuts fall out of eyeline.
  • Cleaning: The gloss glaze is non-porous and needs no sealing. Wipe with warm water and a mild detergent; avoid abrasive pads and acidic limescale removers, which will dull the surface over time.
Samples

Tone, glaze and veining can read differently in your own light. Cut samples are free; sample postage is £4.99 (£8 for Original Style) and is refunded on tile orders over £50 using the code emailed with your sample order. Use the sample option in the buying panel, or call our Ascot team on 01344 620211 for help comparing colour, finish and quantities.

Delivery

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.

Product Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Rounded Short Edge and Rounded Long Edge tiles?

Both are 152 x 75mm half tiles with one glazed, rounded edge — the difference is which edge. The Short Edge (RES) is rounded on the 75mm end, for vertical returns such as the side of a splashback or a doorway reveal. The Long Edge (REL) is rounded on the 152mm side, for horizontal runs.

How many Rounded Short Edge tiles are in a box?

Each box holds 10 tiles and covers 1.51 linear metres, at 6.6 pieces per linear metre. Measure the run to be finished, allow around 10% for cuts, then divide by 1.51.

Can Artworks Brilliant White tiles be used in a shower or wet room?

Yes. Artworks is specified for both wet and dry wall areas, so it is at home in a shower enclosure, a wet room or around a bath. The background must be sound, dry and properly tanked, and a flexible waterproof adhesive and grout should be used throughout the wet zone.

Will County White match across the different Artworks shapes and mouldings?

Every Artworks piece is finished in the same County White glaze, so field tiles, half tiles, mouldings, skirtings and wrapping pieces are designed to be used together. As with any glazed ceramic there can be slight variation between production batches, so we recommend ordering everything for a scheme at the same time.

Can I see a sample before I order?

Yes. Cut samples are free to collect from our Ascot showroom, or we can post one to you for the cost of postage. Seeing the glaze in your own light is the surest way to judge how it will sit against your paint, stone and metalwork.
