A glossy warm-cream glazed wall tile with 1930s cinema glamour — Cinema Rio from Hyperion Tiles, your official Fired Earth stockist.

Inspired by the glazed tiles found in the foyers and washrooms of 1930s cinemas, Cinema embodies the spirit of the Art Deco era. Made in Spain and exclusive in the UK, Rio is a warm, rich cream — deeper and softer than a bright white, with a sunny, sun-bleached tone that recalls the glamour of period interiors.

A 10 x 20cm glazed ceramic tile for interior walls, Rio is beautifully versatile in kitchens and bathrooms. Lay it in classic brick bond, stack it, run it vertically or set it in herringbone, alone or paired with Lincoln jade green.

In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.

Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.

When your order arrives

Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.

Returns

To request a return, contact Hyperion within 14 days of delivery. For eligible online consumer cancellations, you have a further 14 days after telling us to send the goods back. Contact us for the correct return address; your statutory cancellation does not depend on our authorisation.

What colour is "Rio"?

Cinema Rio is a warm, rich cream colour. It is deeper and softer than a bright white, offering a sunny, sun-bleached tone that evokes the glamour of 1930s interiors.

What grout colour should I use?

For a seamless, warm look, we recommend Mapei Ultracolour Plus 130 Jasmine or 132 Beige. These tones blend beautifully with the cream tile.

For a crisp, clean contrast, use Mapei Ultracolour Plus 100 White.

If you want to highlight the brick pattern, a light grey like Mapei Ultracolour Plus 110 Manhattan creates a subtle, stylish definition.

Do I need to seal these tiles?

No. The Cinema Rio tiles have a high-quality glazed finish that is impervious to water and stains. They do not require sealing.

Can I use these on the floor?

No. These are wall tiles only. They are not suitable for floor traffic.

Are they suitable for shower walls?

Yes, absolutely. The glazed surface is waterproof and easy to clean, making them an excellent choice for shower enclosures, wet room walls, and bathroom splashbacks.

Installation & care

Adhesive & Grout: Fix with a quality flexible tile adhesive. A tonal cream grout keeps things soft; a taupe or grey grout adds a graphic Deco edge.
Layout Options: Lay in brick bond, stacked, vertical or herringbone to a 3mm joint for a true Art Deco feel.
Cleaning: Wipe with warm water and a mild cleaner. The glaze needs no sealing and keeps its shine with minimal effort.
