Product story
Ornament Worth Standing Close To
Carved scrollwork runs the length of every 152 x 29mm piece: the Artworks Baroque Blue Scroll Moulding, from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.
Scrollwork is ornament with movement in it — a curling, repeating figure that travels along the piece and picks up again on the next, so that what appears across a run is one continuous decorative band rather than a row of separate motifs. Keeping the band to 29mm holds the pattern in proportion: from across the room it registers as texture along the top of the tiling, and only close to does it resolve into a distinctly carved figure.
A figure cut this deep changes how the glaze behaves across it. Where the surface turns inward the gloss lies thicker and the colour deepens, so the figure declares itself in tone rather than in outline, the shaded hollows setting off the brighter curls that ride above them. Put the piece where people come near enough to notice: closing a half-height run in a cloakroom, bordering a splashback, or drawing a line around a chimney breast. Against gold or antique brass the pairing is frankly rich, and a scrolled band in a blue with this much warmth carries that without shouting.

Installation & care
Installation & care
- Adhesive & Grout: White flexible adhesive, and a joint colour with some warmth in it — greige, putty or a warm grey. Grey with a blue cast sits at odds with the warmth in the glaze and dulls it; brilliant white joints read far brighter than anything in the colour, and the carved figure gives way to them. Rake grout clear of the scrollwork before it firms up, and polish haze off the gloss.
- Layout: Begin setting out from whichever corner of the room is seen first and work away from it, so that any short piece finishes where it will be least noticed. Check as you go that the pattern faces the same way on every piece; the figure is directional and one reversed length is obvious.
- Cleaning: The glaze is non-porous, so no sealant is required. A cloth, warm water and a mild detergent keep it bright; abrasive pads and acidic limescale removers will dull it over time.
Samples
Tone, glaze and veining can read differently in your own light. Cut samples are free; sample postage is £4.99 (£8 for Original Style) and is refunded on tile orders over £50 using the code emailed with your sample order. Use the sample option in the buying panel, or call our Ascot team on 01344 620211 for help comparing colour, finish and quantities.
Delivery
In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.
Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.
When your order arrives
Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.
Returns
Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.
