Rusted Ochre: Ardesia Ocre 32x62.5cm
Lay the look of split-face slate with the Ardesia Ocre 32x62.5cm porcelain tile from Hyperion Tiles.
Ocre is the most characterful of the four — the rust and iron-oxide tones that run through a weathered slate bed, warm and earthy where Gris is cool. Real quarried slate often carries exactly this ochre bloom where the stone has oxidised, and it is what stops a slate floor from reading as flat grey. Finished to a V4 substantial variation, no two tiles are alike.
Real slate is porous, delaminates and needs sealing. Porcelain gives you the same riven face with none of that: frostproof, impervious, rated F4 for heavy domestic traffic, and equally at home on an internal floor, a wall or a sheltered external wall.

⚠ Installation & Care Tips
- Adhesive & Grout: Use a high-quality flexible adhesive suitable for porcelain. Note that Ardesia is not rectified, so it needs a slightly wider grout joint than a rectified tile — around 3mm — to absorb the small size tolerance. A warm mid-brown grout keeps the riven texture reading as stone rather than a grid.
- Layout Options: A one-third stagger suits the slate look and echoes how real riven stone is laid. Dry-lay several packs and shuffle first — Ocre has the widest tonal spread in the range, and clustering the rustier tiles will show.
- Cleaning: Sweep and clean with warm water and a mild floor cleaner. Unlike natural slate this needs no sealing and will not flake, stain or shed.

Delivery And Returns
Access Issues For Large Pallet Deliveries
Our delivery drivers may be prevented from delivering your order by the following:
• Low hanging trees and bridges.
• Narrow roads, gateways, or cars on either side of the road.
• No turning point for the delivery vehicle.
• Unfinished tracks and roads.
• Lack of solid and flat surface to unload.
• Gravel driveways.
If access issues are not advised and/or delivery cannot be made due to unattendance at delivery, a re-delivery charge may be applied.
Checking Orders
Check your delivery as soon as it arrives!
Once the goods are unloaded, they become the responsibility of the receiver.
If you notice any issues with your order, please contact us within three working days so we can resolve the problem quickly and efficiently. Prompt reporting helps us ensure your satisfaction with our products and services.
Fired Earth Tile Returns
Returns are accepted only for complete orders; partial orders cannot be accepted. To begin a return, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your delivery.
All other Brands
You may return your items within 14 days of receiving or collecting your delivery. Please note that a restocking fee of 20% to 30% will apply, depending on the specific terms of the product range. For further details, feel free to contact us.

Shipping Information
Once an order has been placed goods that are in stock, can normally be dispatched for delivery within 3-5 working days. Delivery of special orders, slabs, large-format tiles, some bathware and sizeable orders is best carried out on one of our specialist off-load vehicles, so timescales will be advised before any tiles are ordered. A specific delivery date will be arranged to suit you.
