The Left Hand of an Albert Return
The Jet Black Albert Left Corner is a moulded ceramic corner made to turn an Albert run round an outside angle, gloss glazed to match, and it is supplied singly from Hyperion Tiles, your official Original Style stockist.
This is a purpose-made corner and not a cut one. It comes as a single piece rather than four to a box, so the order matches the number of angles the room actually turns, and because corners come in hands, a room turning two outside corners at chair height needs one of each hand: this left and its right.
The alternative is a mitre, and a mitre through a stepped profile is a difficult thing to bring off. Two 45-degree cuts in glazed ceramic, each one opening a seam of bare biscuit along the joint, and both ledges of the Albert obliged to meet exactly. A moulded corner takes all of that out of the job. Under a mirror-gloss black it takes out something else as well, since an uncut glazed angle keeps the reflected light moving round the corner instead of stopping it dead at a sawn line. Hyperion holds the handed corners in this colourway, which is not the case across most of the palette, so an Albert run can turn every angle in a room in the same fired glaze.

Installation & care
Installation & care
- Adhesive & Grout: Fix the corner first and bring the straight lengths into it from both directions, using a flexible adhesive and checking that the ledges line through on each side. On grout: close to the glaze, the stepped profile turns the angle without a mark on it; in brilliant white, the turn is announced with a bright joint on either side of the corner piece. Mid grey weakens the turn whichever way you look at it. Sponge the angle out early, because grout sets hard in a step.
- Layout: Offer the corner up dry and mark both walls before any adhesive is mixed. Then work away from the corner in both directions so that the cuts land at the far ends of the runs.
- Cleaning: There is nothing to seal; the gloss glaze is non-porous. Warm water and a mild detergent will do it. Abrasive pads and acidic limescale removers should be avoided, as both will flatten the shine over the years.

Delivery
In-stock orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days, with express options available. Special-order and made-to-order ranges carry their own lead time, shown on the product page and confirmed when you order. Pallet, slab, large-format and bathware orders travel on a specialist off-load service — we confirm the timescale and book a date that suits you before dispatch.
Delivery is calculated at checkout from your order and postcode (we do not offer showroom collection) and UK delivery is free on orders over £1,000 on most ranges. For pallet deliveries please tell us about access issues in advance — low trees or bridges, narrow roads or gateways, gravel drives, or no turning or unloading space — as a re-delivery charge may apply if we cannot complete delivery.
When your order arrives
Please check your delivery as soon as it arrives. Once goods are unloaded they become the responsibility of the receiver, so if anything isn’t right, contact us within three working days and we’ll put it right quickly.
Returns
Unused, complete orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery; as tiles are picked and packed to your quantity, a restocking fee of 20–30% applies depending on the range. Special-order items are non-returnable unless damaged on delivery or faulty. Ordering a free sample first is the simplest way to avoid a return.
