Its veining is fine and grey, drifting rather than striking. Tumbling changes its manner completely: the drum knocks the sharp arrises off each baton and leaves a matt, faintly chalky face with softly rounded corners, so the white looks weathered and lived-in instead of new. Small chips and irregularities along the edges are part of the finish, not a fault in it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"line-height: 1.6;\"\u003eHerringbone laid in a worn white stone has an unmistakably old-world feel — think of a Provencal bathroom floor or the boot room of a farmhouse. The rounded edges also give better grip than a polished surface, and hide the odd knock far more graciously. It is well suited to a bathroom floor that takes real traffic, a shower with a decent fall, or a wall behind a roll-top bath.
