Born in 15th-century Venice, where craftsmen set offcuts of marble into a polished base, it has become one of the most quietly confident finishes in contemporary design. Our terrazzo tiles collection spans genuine terrazzo cut from marble, quartz and glass aggregate as well as terrazzo-effect porcelain that captures the same speckled character with the durability of a fired surface. Every tile is available as a free cut sample, so you can judge the chips, the tone and the texture in your own light before you commit.
Where terrazzo tiles work best
Kitchens. A natural fit for the hardest-working room in the house. Large-format terrazzo kitchen tiles unify an open-plan space and disguise everyday marks, while a bolder terrazzo on a splashback becomes a focal point.
Bathrooms and wet rooms. Porcelain terrazzo is non-porous and unfazed by moisture, making our terrazzo bathroom tiles well suited to floors, walls and showers. For genuine stone terrazzo in wet areas, sealing and the right slip rating matter.
Hallways and entrances. A terrazzo floor sets the tone the moment a door opens, standing up to grit and traffic while bringing character to an often-overlooked space.
Living and commercial spaces. From garden rooms to boutique retail, terrazzo's blend of durability and personality makes it a designer favourite. Terrazzo floor tiles in large formats keep grout lines minimal for an expansive feel.
Styling ideas
The character of a terrazzo scheme is set by two things: the size of the aggregate and the palette.
- Fine, subtle chips in a white or pale grey base read almost as texture, ideal for calm, contemporary rooms.
- Large, contrasting fragments turn the floor or wall into the main feature; let them lead and keep everything else quiet.
- Monochrome terrazzo pairs effortlessly with timber, brushed brass and matt black fittings for a refined finish.
- Multicolour terrazzo with flecks of blue, pink, green or gold brings warmth and playfulness; balance it with plain joinery.
Installation guidance
- Subfloor. Surfaces must be clean, dry, level and stable; large-format tiles need a flat substrate to avoid lippage.
- Adhesive. Use a quality flexible adhesive, especially over underfloor heating or on large-format walls.
- Underfloor heating. Both porcelain and genuine terrazzo are UFH-compatible with a flexible adhesive and grout.
- Sealing. Porcelain terrazzo needs no sealing. Genuine stone-and-cement terrazzo is porous and should be sealed on installation and periodically thereafter.
